Root Beer Float Cake
DeDe Wilson's recipe for pound cake cupcakes baked in a 6x3 pan (also had enough batter for 12 cupcakes). Added a Madagascar vanilla bean to the batter. Also made a syrup and steeped vanilla bean hull in it then brushed entire cake with the syrup. Frosting is Buttercream Dream in vanilla and root beer.

Monster High Birthday Cake For My Baby
I am a fondant novice and my first two tries at fondant covered cakes were disasters -third time's a charm. Duff's fondant is easy to use (no cornstarch, powdered sugar or shortening needed - just wax paper)! WASC chocolate top layer, WASC yellow bottom layer - both filled with Sugarshack chocolate frosting. Same frosting is under the fondant and it worked wonderfully. Cake topper is from Have2HaveIt on Etsy. Used Wilton square cutter and #3 tip for argyle and hand cut the stitches for the top layer. Ribbon is my first try at a fondant bow.

Apple Crisp A La Mode Cupcakes
PTO had a bake sale at the Halloween Spooktacular. Used leftover WASC cake batter and unused fall decorations from a previous cake project. Streusel topped cinnamon cake filled with apple pie filling. Vanilla frosting and marzipan decorations. Used boxes and stickers from Michaels for packaging and made the label on the computer.

Family Fall Fun
Wanted to do spice cake but most of the relatives don't like it. *sigh* So it's a 10"x3" yellow cake with apple filling and very vanilla buttercream. First time trying marzipan decorations and was happy with the result. Found it easier to work with than fondant and found my relatives prefer the flavor of marzipan over fondant.

Easter Love For My Residents
Yellow variation of WASC with Buttercream Dream icing. I decorated them in the lobby of the assisted living home on Easter so the residents could watch me. I had as much fun as the residents did! They brought pics of cakes they had made and I showed some of the staff how to do the basketweave. Then I served the cake in the dining room at dinner so they got to eat the cake they watched me decorate.

Brownie Love For My Residents
Client asked for brownies at an upscale function so I googled until I found a great pic for ideas. No name on the pic so I can't give credit. Used Ateco cutters in round, oval and football to cut the shapes from a pan of brownies, frosted with chocolate buttercream and decorated with Wilton brownie stencils. Colored the powdered sugar in food processor with violet, sunflower and moss petal dusts.

Hail Mary
WASC with white chocolate variation and peppermint filling with buttercream decorations. Tried to melt shortening buttercream cause I heard of pourable buttercream but it really didn't set up well. Smoothed as best I could and decorated. My hubby saw the ugly frosting before I smoothed it and didn't see the cake again until after it was done claimed I really pulled a hail mary on it. Hence the name.

Does This Count As Re-Gifting?
Day crew ate the top 2 tiers during a pot luck and the bottom tier was untouched. Pulled off the tier plate, ruining the icing on top of the cake. So I smoothed the top, piped another ring of holly and wrote Seasons Greeting on it quick before the night crew came in. Looked OK and the PM shift had a nice treat. WASC white chocolate variation, peppermint buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing. White chocolate snowflakes with luster dust/peppermint for shine.

Christmas Cheer For The Crew
My kitchen crew has a pot luck for the holidays and asked me to bring a cake. 10", 8" and 6" WASC white chocolate variation and peppermint filling. Snowflakes are white chocolate with luster dust/peppermint extract to give them some shine. Vanilla buttercream using Sugarshack's recipe.
