I made this for a 7 year old's birthday, whose birthday happened to fall on a Friday the 13th. The cake is a 9x13 covered in black fondant. I made the hockey mask out of white fondant. To get the shape I cut it out and laid it on a sleepy time turtle night light for 3 days. I think it turned out perfect. I used a paint brush dipped in red food coloring diluted with a little bit of water and then splattered the mask. The knife is just a plastic novelty knife. Fingers are fondant, sculpted and then painted with food coloring. There are toothpicks holding the fingers in place. Red candles, with one being held by the bloody fingers.
