This is a close up of the back, I made the round feet out of gumpaste and the strap is fondant. One thing I noticed this morning when I got the cake out of the refrig the gumpaste is very wet, Gumpaste must not work in the refrig well, but it got so hot here I couldn't leave it set out It would have melted the buttercream.

Made for triplet girls graduating high school. Made the three of them in their hot pink convertible pulling their mountain of luggage behind on a chain. I had made this cake once before for my nephews with different colors and themes. It turned out cute for girls. They wanted bright, fun, tropical colors. Made a fondant diploma for each and rolled it up next to her name.

I did this cake for my daugher who was going to Europe that summer. We made the theme a travel (Spain/France) theme. Everyone brought gifts she could use on her trip.( photo albums, travel alarm clock, etc.) The flip flops are vanilla cake with licorice and BC icing. The brown suitcase (which I forgot to put the handle FACING the front, I put it towards the back, OOPS!) is chocolate cake with BC icing along with the BC stickers. The passport is yellow cake. All the cakes were filled with chocolate mousse.

This cake was ordered by and aunt & uncle whose nephew is going back to the University of New Brunswick after living and working here for the summer. They wanted to say 'Good bye!' in a lighthearted way. It's a 9X13 chocolate cake filled and iced with chocolate IMBC, with fondant trim and decals. Thanks to everyone who gave me ideas on what to do!

Buttercream with fondant accents. I made this for an office party for 3 co-workers of my husband that were leaving the department. It's not my favorite cake that I've made but I just found out about it at 1:30pm today and had to have it finished tonight for tomorrow. I hope it's good enough.

1st atempt at suitcase modelled cake, base cake is a real cake. Cakes are a rich fruit cake with lots of rum, a West Indian family receipe! So base was strong enough to take the weight of the top cake. Use of edible liquid gold colour for the first time. Completed all modelling in sugarpaste. Done for a couple returning back from their Honeymoon. Really enjoyed this challenge. Sarah Sharpe

This was 1 of 2 suitcase cakes that I made for a retirement party. I think I went a bit overboard on the design (piping) so I didn't get paid NEARLY what I would have asked for had I not already made the quote before I decided on a pattern! This is two 1/4 sheet cakes stacked, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. All of the decorations are buttercream except for the travel stickers which were edible images.
