This was what I imagined when I designed the cake! This one rotates inside our mirrored cake showcase to give the glitter effect.

I created this cake from a photo of only had the top half of her & the wings were barely visible. So, I really liked how this one turned-out, I tried to make the wings 'transparent' by swirling-in some of the frosting from behind/under the wings. I actually got the wing shape from a butterfly on this site, & I used silver luster dust combined with "edible laquer" for the silver sparkles. It was the 1st time I'd used it & it was GREAT! & fun!! =)

Okay, I really had trouble with my fondant this weekend. It looked absolutely perfect when I first put it on the cake, then all of the sudden, everything shifted and slid down the sides of the cake. I almost didn't post it because I"m so embaressed, but I know that we all learn from our mistakes, so I'd be happy to hear your comments. I was happy with the decorations though. The bride, my best friend, wanted bead work to look like the pattern on her dress, and it turned out really well.

Buttercream frosting, first royal Lillies (taking course 3). I missed the "reverse shell" class from course 2, so this is my interpretation of the RS! Cake sparkles. 8" french vanilla cake. My cake did not rise too well, so it's a little short! Thanks for looking!

This is my first attempt at a castle cake. It took a while to really come up with good ideas... I bypassed paper towel rolls and pringles cans, and ended up with PVC pipes for the towers. All decorations are BC except the silver dragees and rhinestones. Hard to tell in the picture, but the entire thing is liberally dusted with cake sparkles. It looked a lot better in person, it seems the photos never do the cake justice!

I made this cake for a get-together for a school group project a couple of days before halloween. We always have dinner and dessert when working on our nursing projects - it makes the work a lot more bearable!!! This cake is iced with buttercream icing, colored black, and the pumpkins are orange colored fondant. The top of the cake is covered with black edible sparkles/confetti!!! I'm really happy how it turned out for just being my 2nd cake!

3-tier (8-6-4) with graduated shades of blue BC icing. Royal icing snowflakes painted with Bluebell disco dust. Clear sanding sugar is on the top of each layer along with a generous amount of bluebell disco dust dusted all over. The picture does not show the true shine of this cake.

This is for a co-worker's grandaughter's 17th birthday. (say that 5 times fast). :) Cake is classic white cake with chocolate buttercream. Not sure if I made it right, but I melted a bar of german chocolate, added it to the butter/crisco/flavoring mixture, mixed well, then added ps. It turned out tasting great!! First time I've ever used the wire thingies...learning experience. Lettering in MMF w/ amethyst luster dust, stars in fondant w/sparkle dust, first reverse shell I've tried.

Experimenting with candy melts. I made a bunch of these lace pieces ahead of time, brushed with silver sparkle dust, then added to the cake. Really fun to work with the dust, this was my first time with it. I tried to add a light layer of the sparkle to the cake top, but it ended up splotchy. Need to improve the technique on that one! For my mother in law's birthday today.

The little girl asked specifically for yellow, pink, and purple to be used as colors. Confetti cake b/c she thought it would look like sparkles inside. Buttercream dream icing. FBCT of Tinkerbell. Fondant decorations. Brushed w/ super pearl luster dust & cake sparkles sprinkled over it - can't tell in pic.

Buttercream with real ribbon and strands of rhinestones. Sugarpaste monogram on the top tier and fresh roses. Hint: I cut the rhinestones apart for the top tier since its SMBC and I didn't want them sliding off!

BC Pink and white first communion. I say when in doubt, add sparkles. This cake gave me so many problems (new crisco). I had to hold it on one hand while I drove over really bumpy roads for several miles!

This wedding cake has all of the elements of the cakes I have created over the last few weeks! The bride wanted the roses and drapes and sparkle but couldn't resist wanting the characters added too! It's a wee bit busy this cake but she loved it and that's what counts. This cake will be etched in my memory always as I had to create it during the time my second grandson was born prematurely with his share of difficulties. From now on...cakes can wait! No more pressure like this, it isn't worth it.

I was asked by my MOL to make a shower cake for a friend of hers. She didn't really care what it looked like, she just likes how I bake so it was up to me to figure out a design. When I asked what the colors were I was told silver, opal (irridescent) and white. I searched the forums and found one by dhmichaud that I did with my own twist. I'd never even personally seen fondant before this cake so keep that in mind when you see the hearts and roses. :)

I made this for my husbands aunt today. Cake is a 6" round with a 4"round filled with blackberry, iced with buttercream and topped with red sparkles. I used fondant for the ribbon and some RI flowers. This is a smaller and faster version of the other one in my pictures.
