This was a cake done for a wedding shower for two couples. I was told I could do whatever I wanted so I choose to do something similar to one of the cakes in the new Wilton Yearbook.

I have LOVED this cake since I first saw it in the gallery and finally had a chance to make it this weekend. Thanks to llee who did the awesome original! 9X13 lemon-blueberry iced in buttercream with fondant diaper shirt and booties dusted with super pearl luster dust. The ribbons are real. It was a huge hit and the mom-to-be kept a bootie!

Well, here is my bridal shower cake I made for my SIL. This was my version of the cake on the insert of the 11X15 Performance pan. I wiped off the names twice and finally got it somewhat presentable. The first time I wiped it off it was fine. The second time I wiped it off it messed up the icing!:(

Crawling Baby stacked on a 1/2 sheet cake for a baby shower. The theme was sports, so I added different shaped balls in buttercream.

I used buttercream icing, fondant decorations and milk choc cake. Thanks for looking. As I finished these two cakes at 4:30 in the morning I forgot to add the border on the top and I was going to add bows on the corners too!!! Guess I should have stayed up a little longer or finished a little earlier!!! The baby and bear were a first for me! I loved doing them! They were a lot of fun!!

Ok...this is my first official cake ...I got the idea from Wilton's Celebrating with Fondant book. I did this for my sisters bridal shower. The cake and flowers are all made from fondant. I had a lot of fun putting it all together.

Many many thanks and props to Sarahscakes for the inspiration and help with this cake. It is a copy of her's (well actually it is not even in the same ballpark but it is as good as I could) It was a practice "dry run" to see if I could pull it off. I did it all in one day and won't try that for the actual event. UGGH.
Choc. cake covered in MMF ,with MMF lace and gumpaste hood.
Next one won't be as tall and the lace will be smaller and more delicate.
Any other ideas on improvement are welcome

The wedding invitation had a bride and a groom building a sandcastle, so when I was asked to do the bridal shower cake, I was inspired! :) Bride and Groom are from the Celebrate with Fondant book from Wilton. Sandcastle mold is from Williams-Sonoma. Sand is crushed vanilla wafers and raw sugar. Seashells are white chocolate brushed with luster dust

Cupcake babies (from Wilton 2006 yearbook) I made for a friend's Surprise Baby Shower. The blankets and abaies are made from Fondant.. not really tastey, but VERY cute! This was the VERY first cake decorating project I have EVER done! I think it turned out well.. and my friends LOVED them!

For a baby shower after the little girl was born. The pink is made from mmf using an impression mat. It was fun. Should have made the mmf a little thinner I think

A quick job, was busy packing for vacation...and told husband I would get these made before I left out of town for his work. It was for a lady at my husband's work. I went to the local grocery store to buy a big enough box and I then taped my "busines" card on the bottom of it....the lady of honor loved them so much and she saw the card...she told my husband that she may call me for some cakes :) Zucchine Spice and Orange Chip Dream cupcakes with dawn's buttercream icing. Wrote B A B Y on alternating rows

This is a chocolate cake covered with buttercream and a candy plaque on the top (I used candy melts in the same pan I baked the cake in). The wording is cut from fondant. Molded candy baby items are on the sides. This was the first time I used a candy plaque and I think it came out well. We tried to cut through the plaque when we served it, but that didn't work well (it cracked), so next time I will remove it before cutting.

This is another cake that I did that duplicates the invitation. This was done for a friend's bridal shower and bacherlorette party. She loved the cake. It turned everyone's mouths black though.

This was almost a complete nighmare. It is a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. Unfortunately it was not the crusting cream cheese icing and it was so hard to work with and try to get smooth. The stripes are made of MMF which wanted to break when I picked up the strips to put ont he cake. I think the MMF was too soft because of all the color I had to add to achieve the correct red and black colors.

Here is a cake I did for my sister's baby shower. It is a butter cake with buttercream icing. I duplicated the party invitation. This was done by free-hand. This is still one of my favorite cakes that I have done.

Did this for a baby shower. I loved doing it, although it took me forever. It was one of the firsts that I did and I had a hard time getting my BC temperature right.

I just wast to tell the others that made a cake like this thanks for the great idea. The onesie is made of fondant and the booties are cup cakes that I have cut, shaped and icinged. They really liked the cake and I'm glad that it turned out this well.
