Hiya :) How did you raise the bath like that? Is the cake board raised somehow?

Lovely! How did you do the "water"
 • Jul 24, 2012 by LondonLass in Baby Shower
Hi Kim. Thank you. The cake is a 10" x 6" cake. I made a stencil for elmo. I printed 3 different sizes until I got the size that set his right hand...

This is made with the Wilton Rubber Ducky pan. It is decorated with buttercream. The soap is white candy melts molded in the Wilton mini loaf pan. I etched "SOAP" and added the line border into the bar after it had set in the freezer for about 15 min.

My nephew's 1st birthday cake! He loves Rubber ducks. This was fun. My first 3d cake. My sister didn't want to cut it, but we finally did and it was pretty good :)

I made this rubber ducky for a baby shower at work. I also made the ducky candy around the cake and put blue & pink cupcakes around the edge as well - everyone loved it!

This cake was turning into a headache. My MMF wouldn't stop crumbling (and suggestions), so I ended up using gum paste for the bath tub. The faucet and duck were MMF. The bar of Dove soap was gumpaste and so was the hanger with the shirt (which broke in half on my was there). Water of course is colored piping gel and everything else is buttercream. It was white chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling.

This is a 1/2 sheet white cake with a 3D chocolate/pound cake on top of it. This was my first attempt with the 3D cake, there are 2 plastic rubber ducks on it, and the bubbles are made with thinned icing, and tip 21 ( I think). I used piping gel on the top to make it look like water. I had a lot of fun with this one. I took a couple of cakes that I had seen on here and incorporated my own ideas, and this is what I came up with.

After a disastrous trial reconciliation, KelleyM and Buttercream have announced they are immediately filing for divorce. ÂHeÂs a bum, KelleyM sobbed to her sister at 1:20 this morning. ÂHeÂs sloppy and messy and he lets me down when it really counts. I canÂt live like this anymore. Buttercream told friends that KelleyM ignored his best qualities. ÂShe had unrealistic expectations. She wanted more than I could give. I knew she was using Fondant again. She would say she was just going out for more butter, and come home with bags of marshmallows, saying she Âhad a craving for Rice Krispy treats. But she never bought Rice Krispies. She wasnÂt fooling anyone. CanÂt she see that Fondant tastes like #*%#$? Someday sheÂll be back. ÂHa! Never! retorted KelleyM. ÂAfter what that little *^&$@ did to me on that rubber duck cake? HeÂs lucky IÂm just divorcing him. Fondant treats me niceÂmakes me feel like a real decorator. This is the start of my new life, and IÂm NEVER going back.Â

My niece saw this in a magazine, Had her Grandma call me to ask if I could make it, with only saying It was a rubber ducky in a bathtub.
That was just about the time I found this site. So I don't remember who's it was, But Thanks! I used the homemade gel for the water, the rest is buttercream.

Nothing celebrates a 4 year old birthday like a party duck in a basket! Although my basketweave leaves something to be desired...

Of all of the baby shower cakes I do, this is the most requested and easiest. It's cute, but simple. The hardest part for me, at time, is finding the right size RUBBER duckies, not the plastic ones.

This was my third time doing this cake. Every time I make it, it comes out better! The 3D pan is not the easiest to work with but I think I've finally mastered it!

Yet another cake with the rubber ducky design!! Original idea from Wilton. Beak, Eyes, and bow are made with fondant, bubbles are royal icing, and everything else is buttercream. Soap is made with the Wilton mini loaf pan and pink candy melts.

This is just another view. The towel is made of airheads pressed together. It was 95 degrees and very humid that day, so everything was a bit melty ;(

This is my second cake and is a copy of one I saw in one of Debbie Brown's books. I used MMF and gumpaste painted w/ luster dust for the bubbles. The letters are piped from colored royal icing and then spray painted.

Rubber Ducky Heart shaped 3 layered Cake I made for a Bridal Shower.
This is Pink , trimed in Bright Yellow...and has little Yellow duckie candy confetti sprinkled over it.
I made the rubber ducky topper.... she has on a veil and holding a little flower bouquet.
The Bride likes duckies...that was the reason for the THEME of this cake!!!
This is 1 of 2 cakes I made for the shower. The other was just a 1/2 sheet cake that says Bride to Be in the same colors/theme. I will upload it as well.
