This was the first wedding cake I've ever done. I just finished setting it up and I'm anxious for the big day tomorrow! As nerve racking as it was I'd definitely do it again!

There are royal icing roses all around the top of each cake (probably jsut under 200). The roses are white with 1/3 tinted purple and another 1/3 tinted yellow. There are tiny doves on the cake and the rose buds on the top and in the middle are silk. Thanks for looking!

Stepdaughter loves Bratz, so found some mini dolls that somewhat resembled the Bratz, and matched colors from the dolls to the cake. She loved it!

This is the cake I made for my daughter's second birthday party. I took the tops of the party blowers and stuck them with the appropriate colored "Wiggle" and put their toy "Big Red Car" as the topper! Thanks for looking!

This was my first cake sold! I sold it to a lady at work who wanted a cake for her mom. I wasn't really happy with the way it turned out, but she was thrilled and that's all that mattered. Yellow cake, whipped icing.

Bride just told me she wanted round 2 tier. Didn't tell me color of flowers or anything, so I had to come up with this on my own. The lady at Hobby Lobby didn't give me enough ribbon, so I had to arrange the flowers accordingly. I like the colors, came out ok for not knowing what the bride wanted. She loved it, thats all that matters!

Every month we have a birthday potluck at work for everyone who has a birthday that month. August didn't have any birthdays or holidays, but everyone wanted to have a potluck anyway. I'm in charge of doing the cakes and it made me think of an UnBirthday cake. Topsy turvy came to mind. It was my first attempt and not the best, but everyone loved the uniqueness of it. I know the things I did wrong and will learn from it :-) Thanks for looking!

This cake was requested by a girl that works at our local pizza shop. I had taken a cake in for two twin boys that have worked at the shop for years, had turned 18, graduated High School and were moving from Idaho to Iowa to attend college. She gave me 1 day notice for this cake. I went to the shop on Thursday to give the cake to the boys and she needed it the next night!

Well let's say I'm pleasantly surprised by the way the cake turned out! The cake originally started out as an 11"x15" sheet cake, a thin cake at that! I didn't realize a sheet cake required more than 1 cake mix! I had to torte, layer and carve this cake to get it to resemble a square! I added a little bit of almond extract to give the fondant some taste. I gave the cake away, and hopefully they will enjoy it! This was taken via cellphone camera -sorry if it's not clear!

First of all, I would like to thank all of the other members who put their pictures of Mardi Gras cakes on here. They were all the inspiration. The bottom layer is a chocolate cake and was baked in the 13"oval pan. The top cake is a white mix but I tinted it in the Mardi Gras colors and made it in my homemade checker board pan. The beads and the crown are not edible.

The cake is a white and chocolate three layer cake with buttercream icing. This is my first attempt at decorating a cake. I am starting cake decorating classes this week, but got itchy to try something on my own. I cover my cake in fondant, also my first attempt. The roses are also made of fondant that I just made by hand.
