A groom's cake decorate with the Marine Corps Emblem modeled in rolled fondant. I HAVE RECEIVED MANY OUT OF AREA REQUESTS FOR THIS CAKE AND UNFORTUNATELY, I AM UNABLE TO SHIP CAKES.

This cake was made for my Mother's Group combined 3rd birthday in September. I made a few buttercakes & sandwiched them with buttercream until it resembled a large rectangular block. I then carved out the Nemo shape and, due to limited time, piped orange butter cream rosettes all over. The fins are modelling fondant and the shell shaped fins are fondant pressed into a madeleine tin and painted orange.

Half sheet cake with chocolate transfer of the new Battalion Logo. This was a gift to my husbands command & my first chocolate transfer. I had a blast making it. Unfortunately, my 3yo broke it before I could put it on the cake so the 1 is missing.

This is a white cake with white bc filling. I decided to surprise my fiance with a marine badge for this cake, as most of his friends at the party are military. This cake would have been easier if it was larger, since it was difficult to get the details without smaller tips. The drawing was freehand. The circles are the only fondant used on the cake. I did 5 layers on the overpiping for this cake.

This was a vanilla cake with vanilla pudding filling. It was made for a friend's son who flys on C130s and was turning 27. The toothpick later held a flag, but I didn't get a picture of that.

Thanks to Cake Corner for sharing some hints with me for this cake! Although I totally messed up and was not even able to build a stand as instructed, so this cake is luckily staying home for my son because it does not have any inner support to travel with except the board inside the shark. I also broke a few of my own "all edible" rules by making the lower jaw of styrofoam and the fin of paper plate. My son will like it, that is what counts!

This baby was one of my first "character cakes", so to speak. My blood pressure was sky high, I can tell you that much! Chocolate cake w/peanut butter cream filling-made for a friend of a friend home from active duty. Traced design & all letters w/a toothpick-had to narrow down from the emblem I was given-including the globe, anchor AND eagle would've put me 6 feet under, I think---was soo relieved to see this one go out the door to a very happy customer!

1/2 sheet cake done for a retired Marine's Birthday! His wife told me later "Do you know what it takes to make a Marine cry? Your cake!" I felt pretty good about this one. Flag MMF and emblem Choc. transfer.

Didn't quite turn out how I wanted. I tried to create an old world effect on the sheet cake but I think I went overboard with the antiquing! Well, I have never made a WHOLE sheet cake before. The thing was huge!!! Yikesabee! Covered in fondant with luster dust galore! LOL

THIS WAS A GROOMS CAKE. THE ONLY THING NOT EDIBLE IS THE ANCHOR AND EAGLE. THE ROPE IS FONDANT AS IS THE GLOBE AND CAKE BASE.

This cake was made for the Colonel of the MCJROTC program at school. It was COMPLETELY inspired by regymusic who was kind enough to give me information on how she did it. I used buttercream instead of fondant, but with fondant accents. It is a 10" double layer chocolate cake with a 8" yellow on top. The Semper Fi insignia on top is white chocolate painted with luster dust. Man do I love that stuff!!! The fondant rope around the bottom is also painted heavily with luster dust.

Inspired by CreativePastries and also by a post by SugarBlossomCakes where Doug told where to buy the mold for the EGA emblem. Thank you to all three. The Marines really loved this cake. This was a full sheet 18 x 24. Half chocolate and half white with raspberry filling. My first time using luster dust and I love it!

Okay-posted a few threads about these things-at least the fondant and gumpaste Marine in the background! The cakes are 14" vanilla, 10" chocolate-both with double chocolate cookies n cream filling, and an 8" dummy. The dummy is draped with a handpainted fondant flag and luster painted rope, 10" sported a 6" white chocolate and luster dusted Marine Corps insignia, and the 14" included a FBCT of the logo, plus white chocolate medallions dusted with super pearl and silver dusts. My faves so far!!

I know I posted my finished cakes together, but this one needed a pic of its own. It was a dummy covered with a handpainted flag with fondant cut-out stars and fondant rope with luster dust. This one was my favorite. I didn't want to cut into the flag which is why it is a dummy.

This is the 2nd CoC cake I have done for this unit. I was very happy with this one. I think this is the smoothest I have EVER gotten my icing! Mocha cake (Lady Cakes Recipe) & Vanilla Cream Icing. I was glad I had to trim it because the mocha cake is delicious!!

First off all I want to thank all of the great cake artists on this site from whom I copied alot of this design. The flags around the bottom of the first tier are the marine alphabet flags. They spell out "C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S". Either I'm just slow or it felt like it took forever for me to finish this cake.

This is a birthday cake for my Father-in-law who is a retired Marine. Letters are royal icing, emblem is 50/50 gumpaste and fondant. Everything else is fondant and I used gold luster dust for painting. It is iced with white buttercream and the cake is devils food with whipped chocolate ganache frosting for the filling. Of course I was inspired by all the wonderful U.S. Marine cakes on this site. :)
