I hand made the gun but since making this cake I see that you can now buy a mold to make one. That sure would have made it a lot easier. :-)

A coworker wanted a John Deere themed cake for a baby shower, so I had the tractor "pulling" the baby carriage. Did the tractor and carriage as a piping gel transfer, then filled in with colors. Freehanded the "Deere's" on the side

This is my second Johne Deere tractor cake I have made. I again placed a picture of a tractor on the cake and cut around it. Then used buttercream icing and then used Chocolate icing for the tires with black food coloring much easier that using white icing and trying to acheive the true black color.

This is a John Deere tractor cake for a two year old little boy. It was inspired by one of Boween's cakes. (Thanks for the idea!) The little boy loves rats so the trailer has rats in the hay. I really enjoyed making it.

My first BCT of a John Deere tractor. I learned lots of things by doing this one...mostly that I don't want to work on another one anywhere near this detailed any time soon! I want to stick to the easier designs they are so much less stress-provoking! At least it looks like a tractor, and that's all that matters to me right now. Any tips on such a detailed design welcome!

Okay, this is only my second 3D cake and I'm burned out on them. I just don't think I've got quite the knack. Anyways, this one pretty much explains itself.

This was for a 4 year old's birthday, and I only got notice the night before...so not my finest work, I got the shape a little off for the tractor, used chocolate cookies and doughnuts for the tires, and chocolate covered pretzels for the smoke-stack. He liked it anyways!

Cake done for my friend's bday - he's a farmer. He loved the cake but didn't fail to mention each part of it that isn't structurally the same as his REAL John Deere! sarcastic I had to point out to him that I can't suspend cake in mid air due to gravity so therefore the cake HAD to go all the way to the bottom in the front! wink White cake tractor - wheels are chocolate cake iced in WBH BC.

This a fourth of a sheet iced in buttercream. The entire top it a FBCT. I don't know how long it takes most of you to do a transfer but this one took me a couple of hours. It had so many details and was very nerve racking. The guy had seen the tractor cake that gmcakes had made and wanted one just like it. Thanks for the idea and I hope mine is close enough for the customer.

This was for a little boys 2nd birthday which was John Deere themed. The corn field is a 2 tiered chocolate cake with crusting buttercream II icing and then a cookies and cream filling using the mint creme oreos crushed up in the buttercream dream recipe....very yummy. The tractor is also chocolate with the crusting buttercream icing and fondant accents.

I made this cake for my cousin's little boy who was turning two. Her son is infatuated with farms, John Deere tractors and holstein cows in particular, as my uncle owns a dairy farm. It was a last minute request so the local dollar store was able to help out with the farm themed props. Half vanilla, half chocolate cake iced with buttercream. The lane is graham wafer crumbs. Guests thought the 'grass' was really fun. Thanks for looking.

I made this cake for my god son's 4th birthday. I was very nervous about doing it since I've only made 2 other "theme" cakes before. I thought it turned out pretty well.

I'm so excited about this cake. It's for my son's 4th birthday, and I hope I've hit this one out of the park!!! It's a farm/john deere theme party so I went with an abstract of the theme. I really like the outcome. It's strawberry cake on top, chocolate in the middle, and vanilla on bottom. His request....Please let me know you thoughts on this cake.

Finally did it, was actually pretty easy though didn't plan on the hot day and the long drive (the small tire fell off (that's why it's icky) and a kiddie finger got to the big tire before the pic.. Thanks for looking, and to those of you who gave me 'tire' advice (4" pan and cupcakes" - Wilton Icing)

I recently got a new projector, and this is the second cake I have done with it. I was afraid the design might be too complicated to draw, but it was much easier than the FBCT I did of the same design! The design and background are airbrushed!
