This cake was a 'good-bye' cake to an ICU nurse who was leaving to go to work for a cardiologist. Iced in buttercream with marshmallow 'valves'.

This is the faux fondant method using Crusted Buttercream II recipe from this site. The roses are real. I made this in Oct 04 for my niece. It's white cake with buttercream filling. I used the faux fondant technique and Crusted Buttercream II icing. (icing recipe and tecnique found on this site) I got a lot of comments from people about the icing not being as sweet sweet as they have on many wedding cakes and I have to agree. I love the icing method because it gives the smoothe elegant look many brides want and the great taste of a nice buttercream icing.

This is my first cake ever, and I used Marshmallow Fondant (decided after tasting premade fondant.. yuck!) It was for my daughters first birthday.

I have made so many of these cakes. Everyone that sees them, falls in love with them and orders one from me. All flowers are made from royal icing. This is really an easy cake to make and a big seller for me!

I made this to try out a new cake an icing on friends at my former work place. They're my more than willing guinea pigs. It's french vanilla with dream whip icing. The icing was a little grainy when I made it but hope it's not when it's cut. The icing was also a little soft for the drop flowers but they came out okay. One of those things only the decorator knows. I took this after it was tented in plastic, to explain the shine.

This is a cake I made for my sisters co-worker. The used heart shaped cookie cutters to get the outline then used tip 16 to fill in the hearts. It was a white cake with strawberry mousse.

Heart shaped cakes decorated with half of each tier decorated in white, and the other in purple. At the reception, a fountain was placed below the bottom tier. A problem I ran into was what flowers to use to keep a balance. I finally gave up and used pearls overflowing a china bowl.

Mothers have big hearts, thus the heart shaped pan. She loves purple so we covered the cake in marbelized purple rolled buttercream. The numbers, lace around the heart, and the butterflies are cut from fondant and dusted with luster dust. The flowers are made of gumpaste and dusted with luster dust as well.

This was only like my 4th cake I think, and I had never done stars, but it turned out okay. It was a white cake with whipped filling, and buttercream frosting. I made pink heart candies that went around the sides, on top of rossettes, which turned out to be my favorite part!!

This was my first attempt at a BC glaze. I made this cake to take in to work (where most of my creations are appreciated), and as a prototype for the graduation cake I made for a co-worker of mine. This was a 12"×18" red velvet sheet cake. Oohs and aahs from everyone at work who saw it, and it was all gone by lunchtime!

This is a close-up of the detail in the centre of the card. I mixed my BC glaze a bit too runny, and it ran over the borders in some spots. Overall, however, it was a big hit. Everyone wanted to know just how I did it!

The unique thing of this cake is the way it is iced. From an old Celebrate Wilton book, the design uses waxed paper scallops that are attached to the tier. Once in place, the cake is re-iced in the color. The templates are removed and the ruffles are added. Tea roses are placed at the top of each garland. Pretty and elegant.

The wedding was their second and they didn't want a big affair. The color scheme was multiple colors. 12" square, 9" heart, 6" heart. Tea roses comprise the bottom tier on the 9" heart. The couple was surprised that a small cake would look so nice. They were very pleased

I made this cake for my neighbor's wife... it is a white cake that I added some edible confetti bits to (just to add some color in the inside). The outside was crumb coated with buttercream, the covered with MMF. I cut the heart shapes out after I put the MMF on the cake. Then I cut out the hearts shapes in different colors and put back into the cutouts.. smaller hearts were placed on top of the larger heart cutouts and really small hearts were placed randomly all over the cake

I'm not really happy with the way these turned out. I used Alice's icing recipe and it looks kind of chalky. The cookies were from the kitchengifts website and they didn't hold shape very well. Next time I'll try something different. Oh well, I guess that's how you learn, huh?

This cake was for my son's wedding. I have a long way to go but he loved it. I made the top out of polymer clay - it is a likeness of the two of them.

This cake was ordered on short notice for a small bridal shower. The only request was green decorations. When the customer picked it up, she took one look at it and ordered a cake for a baby shower in a couple of weeks. :-)
