This was for our families celebration. Several family members are war veterans, thus the name 'Patriotic Remembrance'

This is the first wedding cake I've ever made. Each of the layers is a red velvet cake, which I had never even heard of prior to this! The kicker to the whole story is that I was also the best man at the wedding! :)

This cake was made for a close friend's retirement party. The theme of the party was red and purple hats (I think she's going to start a chapter of Red Hat Society). The hat is a ball pan cake, covered in fondant, and BC frosting. The cake is a 3-layer, white/lemon marble with lemon pudding frosting.

Sheet cake cut and stacked. Red icing is canned strawberry with added red food color. Color was great, would not be stiff enough for any piping. Can't recall what I started with for the black. The black was Chefmaster liquid color.
Decorations are gumdrops, chiclets, m&ms, licorice.

I bought the checkered board pan and this was a great reason to test it out! I was short on time so it didn't turn out quite like I wanted it to (it never does!!) It is White cake Buttercream icing under MMF. Fireworks on top BC, Fireworks on sides MMF.

14", 10" and 6" tiers. Fresh roses and lavendar. We baked the cakes in NY, froze them and took them on the plane to ID where we decorated and assembled. It isn't perfect, but we had no major disasters and the bride(my niece) and groom were pleased.

This cake looked 100 times better in person...in fact it was quite stunning. I had fun with this one. It's an old Wilton design. Cake was white almond sour cream from the cake mix doctor. Delicious! Iced with buttercream.

This was my first go at Fondant - MMF. I found it easier to use than I thought it would be. The colors did not turn out as deep as I wanted.

Whew! A lot of work and time went into this one...Didnt' come out as I wanted to (had a hard time with the head)!, but still fun to make. For the head I layers 6' & 7", body used 9" and carved, feet were each 4" round cakes. Put dowels in the feet for support ofcouse, as the cake was quite heavy. Put extra support in the body to hold the head...

My boss' wife called me at work at noon on a Thursday to see if I could have this cake ready by Friday morning...I get out of work at 5pm. Anyway, it was an 8 inch round cake so I agreed. Instead of making a frosting power ranger I decided to make the foam cake topper and simplify my life. The kid loved it. It is a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting, home made red.

I did these cupcakes for my nephew's 6th birthday. He absolutely LOVES spiderman. I didn't want to just use the little plastic toppers, so I decided to make webs & spiders. I bought the Wilton Spiderman cupcake liners, used butter cream icing & tried this delicious recipe for yellow cupcakes using all brown sugar & no granulated sugar.

My nephew couldn't decide whether or not he wanted the Hulk or Spiderman, so I told him he didn't have to decide and I managed to come up with this. It's just a 1/2 sheet cake decorated with buttercream frosting; I managed to find the little figures at a Christmas clearance sale, they were ornaments.

This cake was covered in buttercream, with fondant stripes. Red buttercream roses, and buttercream piped hearts. The inside was soft buttercake layered with chocolate buttercream.
I realy enjoyed making this cake, it's one of my favourites, i definetly don't make as many buttercream cakes as I'd like.

Rebecca sent me a picture of a wedding cake with fresh flowers on top and asked if i could do it all in icing. The cake is three tiers or white mudcake, cut to a vase/bucket shape, covered in buttercream with buttercream roses and gumpaste leaves. She loved the cake. The roses were done with strawberry buttercream, the scent was really lovely, everyone at the reception commented on how lovely the cake smelt.
