This cake was for a children's christmas party at church. I am still learning so I was pleased with how it turned out.

Okay, so this isn't really a "Christmas" cake, but I couldn't find anything for seasonal! This is the last of 3 cakes I did for a florist's open house. This cake is covered in gumpaste, dusted with pale blue and white sparkle dust to give it a "cloud" effect. Then, royal icing snowflakes drifted down the sides in varying sizes. Those too were dusted in sparkle dust and I sprinkled some edible glitter on them as well to give them a "snowy" appearance.

This cake was made to match the bridesmaids dresses. I made several flavors so the wedding guests could have a variety.

This was by far the largest cake I've ever done. Each tier was actual cake and the cakes were covered in a white chocolate fondant. There was silver snowflake ribbon wrapped around the bottom of each tier. The cake turned out much better than I thought and the bride and groom loved it!

The bride designed this cake - top to bottom. She loved it! It's chocolate cake and white velvet cake with a raspberry filling. Italian Merigue Buttercream Icing. Large sugar crystals in the icing (boy did they sparkle under the spotlight!)
Gumpaste Calla Lillies.

I made this for some friend's of our's for their November wedding. I decided not to make the snowflakes out of royal icing like the book called for. Luckily it was a fake cake, so I just went to Michael's bought some sparkly plastic ones.

Thank goodness it snowed all week here...thought this wedding cake wouldn't be "appropriate"!
Dark Chocolate Cake filled with Milk Chocolate buttercream, sizes 6", 9" and 12" x 5" tall tiers.
Smooth white fondant on each tier, then made a second circle with jagged icicle edges and brushed that all over with "snowflake" irridescent powder. Flipped it over and wet the back completely, then carefully (with 2 people!) lifted it and placed it onto each cake. Royal icing snowflakes too.

This was a last minute order from a friend of ours for the 7 year old daughter's birthday. Her only requirement was that there was a snowman on it! Snowman, snowballs and present are fondant; ice cream cone trees with royal icing and powdered sugar "snow". Cake is white chocolate, dreamy creamy icing and edible pearls on sides.

This was one of the first cakes I did. It was iced in white buttercream with royal icing snowflakes. At the time, I didn't know you had to leave at least a day for them to dry so I was drying them in the oven, breaking them, etc. on the day of the event! What a lesson learned.

I made 4 dozen of these cookies this week. One of my good friends has adopted a baby from Guatamala and the christening is this weekend. They were using glass ornaments with snowflakes on them on the tables at their reception. I used the no fail sugar cookie recipe and royal icing. Only the "lines" have been coated with sanding sugar.

My first attempt at frozen buttercream frosting transfer. I think I got the outline too thick, it's a little too dark. But I think it's okay for my first attempt at this technique?!

White cake with strawberry filling. Decorated with decorator icing, and royal icing. Penguins, Polar bear, and Walrus are fondant. Block ice wall made with sugar cubes. Piping gel used for water and "chilly" ice accents!! Notice the humor incorporated into this wintery scene!

This was made for a child's birthday party themed after Christmas. Everything is edible except for the characters. The client bought them and wanted them incorporated into a cake. Unfortunately you can't see all sides of the cake. I also made a fondant sack filled with Christmas ball candies.
