Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse on Cake Central

This was a BIG cake!!! Whole head is made of chocolate. Got idea from Wilton Book. The 2 year old LOVED it! The cake was as big as he was. He sat on the table by it's side the whole party. I love those kinds of reactions.

You did a wonderful job, I love this cake, its a variation on a wilton one, isn't it. Did you make the head out of candy melts. If I was the birday boy I wouldn't let it out of my sight either

I love this cake too. I've always wanted to try it but it seems like it would be really hard to do. Is it?

That is so colorful and festive! I love the story of the birthday boy not getting off the table!! Is that his leg in the background?

Hi, thanks for all your great comments!! This cake was not really hard to do at all. The key was finding the center core Tall Tier Cake set. That's what holds the head on the cake. It was big and heavy. Cindww, yes, that is his leg in the picture.

Great job! I made this cake also, last year! I used a large plastic dowel (attached to the back of the head with chocolate) and then stuck down through the body to attach the head. It worked great! Yes, that head was very HEAVY!

bakingmama.....I believe I got it from a Wilton 2005 book. The whole trick is the structure of the base. It's quite easy but you definitely need the specific base and column pieces it asks for.
