thank you! it was for my sons 5th birthday party this past weekend. the bomb was inspired by one i saw on a website... www.coolestbirthdaycakes.com (?) I also made a briefcase w/ a magnifying glass.
i forgot to add...its made from wiltons sports ball 3d pan, covered in fondant. the "fuse" is a candly slightly melted so i could bend it to shape, then i added a piece of fondant to the end and painted it with luster dusts. at the party, we just removed the "spark" and lite the "fuse" , it was very cool.

...oops, candle not candly...
That is so cool! What a great idea for a cake! You did an awesome job!!!
just found this - cute!
Gorgeous! My husband just made SSgt in the USAF and he's AMMO so this cake would be perfect for him!
I have a question, though. Was there a certain cake mix that you used? I don't want it to be too moist.
i used toba garretts moist yellow cake recipe on epicurious.com - though its moist--its scratch, so the density for a shaped cake is just fine.
Wow-just flawless. Such a clever idea for the fuse and I love the bright cake board. Remarkable job.
I'M GONNA USE THIS IDEA IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PROBLEM, THANKS
wan, of course i dont mind. i acutally got the idea from another website, i THINK it was called coolest -birthday-cakes.com
