I did cut the larger cake so that the "wheels" would fit snugly. This makes a lot of cake...feeds 35-40. (I double-checked...it's actually a 16" round.)
Nothing under the bow to keep in place. I made it from ribbon and twisted with a piece of light-gauge floral wire, then placed it on the cake after the icing had crusted. Removed it for transporting.
