Painted Cookies

Painted Cookies on Cake Central

NFSC with antonia74's royal icing and painted with americolor gels........I made these as a test for my Grandma's 80 birthday party over Memorial Day weekend, I'm going to try and freeze them and see if it works when they've been painted *crossing fingers*.......may have to do them over in a couple weeks lol

thanks so much, yes I used a paintbrush and the americolor gels just straight out of the bottle....I just loaded two different colors on the paintbrush when I painted them..kinda like the one stroke painting (although I don't know how to one stroke paint lol).....they're very easy to do!

wow you guys are soooooooo nice........mitsel8 no they aren't sticky at all after they're dry.......they dry in about 5-10 minutes and the paint tends to dry with a bit of a sheen on it but it's not tacky or sticky whatsoever completely dry and smooth....you can rub them and it won't bother them a bit (as long as your hands aren't wet or anything lol)

you guys can buy the americolor gels right here on Cake Central!! I don't know if wilton gels would work, they seem thicker to me and I haven't personally tried them so I don't know....I know the americolor's are kinda paint consistency right out of the bottle, so that's what I use....I just add a little bit of white to the colors to get the shade I'm after.....other than that I don't really do anything special...just kinda paint a five petal flower, it's pretty basic I'm sure if you tried it y...

where can we buy this kind of (paint )or gel? do you think it would work with the regular coloring gel for icing?

okay, just wanted to report back, they came out of the freezer and they are exactlly like they were when I put them in there...they aren't tacky at all (I kinda thought they might be)....I'll be freezing fully decorated cookie MUCH more often now!!1
