This cake was for a 5 year old girl - thus the 5 butterflies and 5 gerber daisies. She wanted a "Fancy Nancy" cake for her "FANCY NANCY BONJOUR BUTTERFLY" party. So I made gumpaste butterflies and then "fancy stuff" like the gumpaste shoes and purse. The white feather boa around the cake base added the final touch of fanciness. The geber daisies and the "W" are made with fondant, and the #5 birthday candle is covered in fondant. Bottom tier is a 12" flower cake made of banana chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (a delicious combo that kids and adults loved). Middle tier is a 9" round white chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Top tier is a 6" flower cake made of dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling. All tiers are covered in MMF.
