The kids next door asked if I'd make their mom a birthday cake. The only requirement was that it incorporated strawberries and chocolate. Aside from that I had free reign to do what I wanted (that's always the deal when the cake is free). The cake was a lemon cake with a strawberry filling. The fondant goes completely around and under the cake, and the chocolate covering is ganache.
