My boss' wife called me at work at noon on a Thursday to see if I could have this cake ready by Friday morning...I get out of work at 5pm. Anyway, it was an 8 inch round cake so I agreed. Instead of making a frosting power ranger I decided to make the foam cake topper and simplify my life. The kid loved it. It is a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting, home made red.

Cool cake, my son's a major power ranger fan. How do you make foamcake toppers?

awesome cake yes what is a foam topper?
gegon 9/1/05 at 1:55pm
You need a Wonder cutter first. This is a foam cutting devide for about $11 (professional cutters sell for $100.00) found at any craft store. You print out the drawing or photo on cardboard, cut it out as close to the edge as possible, glue it to the foam using white glue and put pressure on it for a minute so it will really stick. After that you take the wonder cutter and just follow the paper border. It will not cut paper, it does heat and cut the foam. Then arrange as desired.I almost forgot, neve...

forgot what???? Can you print on cardboard thru your printer? Thanks

Actually, no. I can use regular paper or thicker paper (greeting card stock) but not cardboard. What I do is, if I use the regular paper, I'll stick it on a heavier cardboard and cut it to size.
