I made this for my friend's son's 6th birthday a few years ago based on a drawing he did. I was frantically finishing this cake while everyone else at the party ate dinner, so the details aren't quite as neat as I would have liked! I made the rocket out of 4 5-inch rounds iced in buttercream (there's a dowel through the middle). The cone and fins are made out of silver cardstock (if I do a cake like this again, I might try gumpaste). The backdrop is black posterboard with white Christmas lights for stars.
