Thanks for your comments on my penguin cake. It was really, really easy. I just baked (3) 6" rounds, (1) 5" round, (1) 4" round for the base and then used the Wilton mini wonder mold for the head. I used dowel rods and cake boards between every two layers of cake just like when doing a stacked cake. Iced the whole thing (front white, side and back black) and smoothed with a viva paper towel. The beak and the feet are marshmallow fondant.
