Mendhi on Cake Central

I got this idea from the "Charm City Cakes" website. For those who do not know, that is the company that the TV show "ACE OF CAKES" is about. AWESOME show. I love it. Well, this is my rendition of one of their beautiful cakes. When I showed my parents this cake they said, "What is it?" UUUGH. A cake does not need to look like a specific object. It can be just a design. CAKE ART!

Great job! Yes, cake as art. (The comment by your folks only goes to prove not everyone is "cake addicted" like us.) ;-D

love your cake too...beautiful color and design, and I too get so frustrated with typical orders of sheet cakes :ugh:.... thanks for sharing

Haha. I HATE sheet cakes... well at least SUPERMARKET sheet cakes. All boring in white with ugly half-assed roses. (no offense to anyone who does work in a supermarket bakery) I just think they are a little too typical for my liking. I have been asked to work in one and I don't think I would like it. I would want to be a little more creative and it seems they don't allow that.

I free-handed it but looked at a photo of a cake done by a cake company "Charm City Cakes." But of course you can only see one side of a cake in a photo so I just did my own thing for the rest. :)
