imartsy, thank you. They are gumpaste flowers that I actually made without a stem. I just made the center rose piece and put the petals on a row at a time. I like the way they turned out also.

I'm sorry, I didn't get a top view. What I did was use the large and small rose petal cutters. The large was pink and was placed with the largest end towards the cake. The small was white and placed with the pointed end tucked in between the pink ones that had the pointed ends pointed out. I thought it was really pretty as well. I then painted it with petal dust.

This is so perfect for a 17 year old. It is sophisticated and whimisical at the same time. I love the colors and the look of the roses. It is beautiful!!!
