This is my first cake i have ever made. It was a hard one, the fondant was hard and when i put it to shape the cake there were splits and i could not close them. I have never made flowers before so thats was a first. i did this for my inlaws anniversary as they never had a wedding cake.

When I first started using fondant I was using the marshmallow fondant and was having trouble as well. I switched to a commercial fondant (Satin Ice for me) and it was soooo much easier. You might want to try that until you become more accustomed to working with fondant. I think it's lovely!!
