Hearts And Roses Side View

Hearts And Roses Side View on Cake Central

The side cakes for this wedding were bundt cakes in devil's food and strawberry. I covered them with a clear buttercream glaze and dusted them with powdered sugar, which made made the stacked hearts show up nicely.

how do you put those roses to stay like that. I love the effect. This cake is sooo pretty.

Thank you! Actually the roses are stuffed in there. The bride wanted a few laid in between the tiers but with or without stems it wasn't working. They were hollering for me to come for pictures so I stuffed them in added the baby's breath and called it good. I was pleased with the results. Open flowers are easier to lay around whereas tight buds tend to want to roll. And can be a pain. Ü

Thanks so much. Faux fondant is a method that gives you the look of rolled fondant and the great taste of buttercream. Go to the tutorial for Creating faux Fondant in Articles. She gives you great pictorials. I use the Crusted Buttercream II recipe found on this site. Like I said, I'll never go with rolled icing again. This is easy and tastes great!!
