Lovely cake. I noticed your comment elsewhere that you're a photographer too - this is a great picture. What do you do for lighting? This looks so natural.
Thanks.....I actually use natural lighting...no flash. I have a one-pane glass door and ivory carpet in my living room. I use Photoshop for most of my cropping/etc. I like to use the soft-focus feathered look vignette around the photo too.... I'm rambling.....LOL...the key is not to use flash. Sometimes I use an old straightback wooden chair by a window to set my cakes on to photograph.
Actually, this was my second basketweave...I learned this summer in Wilton course 1. THANKS!!!! I think I just really like the basketweave and took my time with it. Sometimes I get overconfident and go too fast and, well, ugly happens!! LOL I machine-gunned my wilton courses. Took them all pretty much back to back. Finished last month. This is the larger basetweave tip....I like it better...and it makes the process go faster. I think it looks more realistic. ??????
