continued: Cocoa transfer sheets were applied using pink candy melts. Pink buttercream tip 10 borders were added. 25 lbs of powdered sugar later, we have our cake! It's not my best work, but it's the best I could do with a newly diagnosed pinched nerve in my lower back! Thank goodnes for narcotics! LOL Maybe that's why the middle tier seems off-kilter....
Forgot to add, the topper is a dome of my first attempt at gumpaste roses, using the Wilton Stepsaver kit. It was topped with a tiny crown of silver and rhinestones. I was happy with my roses. I did the first step in a shade darker of pink than the outer petals, for realism.
Really nice work, the cake looks great. I'm going to attemp to use chocolate tranfers in a couple of months and home my cake turns out as nice as yours.
oh wow!! That is gorgeous!!! I hate to bother you as well, but while your at it, can you send me the cocoa transfer instructions as well? Thanks!! [email protected]
Thank you everyone for your comments! I'll look for the closeup of the flowers to post.. The tiers were 6-8-10-12-14 and fed about 150. I only needed 75 servings, but figured that I should go big or go home! Yes, the tiers were tall. The top was 4 1/2", the bottom was 6 1/2" and the rest were 5" tall. I used double 2" layers for all but the bottom, which I used double 3" layers. There were four layers of cake and three of filling in each tier. Waiting for the pro pics for close ups.

This is beautiful!!
wow!
your tiers look so tall---three inch pans?
Wow - such a pretty shade of pink on the fondant, and the chocolate transfers make a very cool marbled effect.
LOVELY! What is a Cocoa transfer sheet? Could you give me instructions, it looks so [email protected]
very pretty cake!
Do you have a close up photo? I would like to see the detail. What a lucky daughter to get such a wonderful cake from Mom!
WOW! That is UNBELIEVABLE! I would love to know how you made your cocoa transfers. Would you mind e-mailing the instructions? [email protected]
