In community album: Christmas
This is an "attempted" snowman globe style cake. The snowman is done freehand, and I obviously suffered a blonde moment in the design process as everything ended up opposite of what the picture looked like -yikes-
Anyways, I used the clear edible glitter for a look of falling snow. My snowflakes aren't the greatest, but then again I'm not perfect. I almost lost this cake -it *ALMOST* did a nose dive as I got out of our car...luckily the damage was minimal, and to the side (and after I got the picture!)

critique subgroup member: I think it's adorable! great save from disaster :). Your colors are nice and bright and the glitter was a wonderful touch. You do perfect border work. The only thing I could critique would be, next time, take a little more time on your snowflakes. They seem to be the only tiny flaw on such a fabulous cake :)

critique subgroup member: WOW...what a fantastic snowman. Freehand! GREAT JOB! This cake is so fun. I love the glittery shine and the tufts of "snow." Only the snowflakes need improvement. I would have liked to see them a little "cleaner." They almost seem like a last minute quick addition to a perfect cake. I'd clean them up or just leave them off. The design would work with or without them.

Critique Subgroup member: This is very cute! I love the contrast of the dark blue & white. The glitter definitely gives it a "winter" touch. Snowflakes could be a little more uniform, but I love the shading on the snowman. Very cute cake!

Critiquesubgroup member: Great freehand design. Blue is too strong for me, did everyone have blue teeth? Your reverse shell is a little raggedy, slow down a bit when piping. Earlene Moore sells snowflake designs in case you make another one of these delightful cakes. The glitter is a nice touch! PS: Good save on the nose dive.

critique subgroup member: Cute design! Excellent job freehanding the snowman. Only thing I see is the snowflakes could have been a little neater.

Critique Subgroup Member: Good job on the freehand BC work. Christmas tree is really cute. You can see a lot of inconsistency in the reverse shell border and I see a couple of stray dragees. Glad you were able to avoid the nose dive. :)

critique subgroup member: very pretty cake! I love the sparkle!! your shells have much better form on this cake, but they are not smooth, I am wondering if your icing is a bit too stiff???

Critique group member: Cute cake! I love the snowman! Critique wise you definately need to work on your reverse scrolls and snowflakes, try to slow down and make sure I you icing is not to thick. The other thing that bugs me is the tree which is totally out of scale with the snowman.

critique subgroup member: This is a very cute cake. Great colors and looks "frosty". I'm not sure about the tree. Might have liked it better without it and more snowflakes, but overall, this is a really fun and yummy looking cake. Bet they loved it!
