Ladybug Lamp Cake

Ladybug Lamp Cake on Cake Central

Shower for a friend at work. Based on a lamp from her registry. Meant to put a black& white ribbon on top but ran out of time! Ladybug is rice krispie treats.

thanks guys - Yes, it's a big dowel in the middle. 7/8". The cake on top is sitting on a board that's about 3/4" thick. I drilled a 7/8" hole about halfway through the middle of the board, inserted the dowel, and then secured with a screw. Similar idea on the bottom, except I ended up using a small piece of wood glued to the bottom of a plastic cake cirle. Drilled a hole part-way through the wood and screwed the dowel in place.

This is adorable! This is one that you should have had a professional picture of-terrific cake for a portfolio! Nicely done!

So I re-did this out of styrofoam and put it in the state fair (came out much better than this one!), and I won!! Got first place in the children's novelty cakes division and won best overall for amateur decorated cakes! I'm so excited!!
