Cake Nightmare!

Cake Nightmare! on Cake Central

I could weep! My first topsy-turvy cake, and instead of sculpting the cake to only appear wonky, I went with other method of just hoping the supports, supported. All was fine until I had to transport it, but then it fell apart, literally. Only the top tier survived looking anything like the photo, the rest was a gooey mess. Still tasted good, and thankfully it was for my daughter's birthday. Shows I've still got lots to learn, even if I can make a cake look pretty!!

I am so sorry that happened to you. These type of cakes require so much doweling for support and especially a center dowel through all tiers. Glad you got a before picture because it is a very sweet cake.

I'm glad you got the before picture. I'm so sorry for you because I know you wanted to deliver it to her in one piece. Great cake! Don't give up!

Oh it was really so gorgeous too. I love the colors. I'm glad you got a pic to show, sometimes that really helps when the cake doesn't survive in the end. Three cheers for your next effort, you'll do fine!
