Froggy Tales Baby Shower

Froggy Tales Baby Shower on Cake Central

I made this cake to match the comforter set and theme that the mother chose for her baby's room. All decorations are made out of fondant. Frosted in buttercream with fondant accents. Frog prince is made out of styrofoam balls covered in fondant.

Was the theme "froggy tales"? I'm doing a froggy tales cake for Sept 9...It is so neat to see the different takes on the same theme/comforter set....Great job, very cut. Hope mine turns out as good.

This is precious. Your edges are so crisp; is this a shortening based buttercream or something like an IMBC?

LisaMS - I use the Whimsical Bakehouse House buttercream recipe. It's soooo easy to smooth. I use a very thin spackle/scraper thing I got from Home Depot for like $2.

Love this cake. The torties and frog are adorable. Beautifully put together. I am envious of your butter skills.

That is a great idea to use styrofoam for the frog. I need to remember that tip when doing animals like that if I don't want to use rice crispie treats. They can keep longer if they want a keepsake. Great cake!
