Coloured Roses on Cake Central

This is a fruit cake covered with fondant and sitting on a fondant covered board. The flowers and frills are made with modelling paste and the bluebirds are made with royal icing.

Thanks very much for your comments. The birds are just piped onto wax paper, the wings and tail are just three piped lines joined together at one point. These are all done separately and let dry then pipe the birds body ( a line) and the head is a dot where you pull away quickly to cause a point for the beak. Pop in the dried wings and tail while the body is still wet and wella! there you have it ;-D .

Just gorgeous, my favorite styles of cake decorating are British and Australian. Just something so simple and elegant about them.
