Bart Simpson
This was thankfully for my son's birthday. I sure learned a lot! IN this cake there were 3 layers of 6 inch cakes. (1x 3" deep--2 x 2" deep)...next time I will do another 2 inch layer. I would also put in dowels at least on a couple of the layers...and definitely a couple of seperator plates. This guy wouldn't have made it had I had to drive him somewhere...also, I initially attempted to cover him in TG's fondant. It didn't work. I ended up ripping off the fondant and doing the decorating in BC.
I would like to add that the eyes (which I would have made bigger if I had the time) and the nose are MMF. You can see that his head is too short and fat...one more layer would have done the trick.
I'm sure your son LOVED IT!!! I really enjoy the cakes I learn the most from -- remember we're our own worst critic! Keep up the good work.
He did love it...he turned 12..and he is a nut! He giggled when he saw it...so I took that to mean..yup..he liked it!
