The cake is beautiful! How did you make the shoes...they are so cute!
bellejoey 8/18/07 at 3:02pm
Thank you SueB! What I did was copy a pattern. If you go into galleries and scroll down, just click on patterns and templates. I believe the one that I wanted was on page 3 or so....There are many great patterns for boys and girls if you check it out! I was really nervous w/ the shoes, but the patterns made it so easy! I had fun w/ the shoelaces.

What a stunning cake! absolutely love your shoes, just how did you get those laces thru the holes and tied up?? definitely into my favorites

Thank you! I laid the piece of fondant across the shoe for the lace and I pinched the ends of the laces and just stuck them thru the holes...that way it gives the appearance that they are actually going thru the holes.

Donna, this is so funny. I found this cake surfing google images (cutest-baby-shower-cakes or something like that) and thought "Oooh, I love this one! The colors are great and the shoes are so cute." Then I realized it is YOUR cake; after I just copied your poodle skirt cake. I think I am drawn to your cakes! I saw the name "Donna" so came here to see if it was yours. :-)
