Gumpaste Carnation Wedding Cake
This 12" cake was requested by the bride for her small family only wedding. The ribbon was purchased by the bride to be used somewhere on the cake and she also wanted gumpaste carnations for her floral. The cake is a very dense moist chocolate pudding cake with fresh raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. I hand made the gumpaste carnations and the wedding rings on top of the cake I made out of gumpaste as well.
Thank you StepOnmi and lovincake. In answer to your question about the leaves. I free hand piped the entire cake in the leaves with royal and added a bit of luster dust pearl to the remaining royal I had thinned and painted each leaf in. :)
Wow! This looks wonderful! I sounds very yummy! I thought the rings and carnations were real! and I am not sure how you put the leaves on here but they look like glass. Very nice cake!
How did you put those leaves on...i really like that...this is a very nice cake.

Your work is incredible! Also viewed your 25th anniversary cake with the ivy and loved it.
Do you mind sharing your tips on how you get your buttercream so smooth? The top on this cake was so flawless it didn't need a shell border.
Very nicely done! :)
I love this cake...the leaves just make it POP and that's just awesome that you piped them all by hand. Don't think I would have the guts to try that lol but who knows one day. Great job!!!
