Quickie Christmas Cake
I rushed doing this cake and aimed for something simple, yet elegant. I had already done a lot of baking, so I couldn't put much time or thought into it: it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to make it when I got a checker board cake pan set for Christmas and wanted to try it out. It is a 3-layer dark chocolate/french vanilla cake. Question: do you think it would've looked better if I decorated the angel or left it blank? Criticism welcome.
First of all, your cake looks gloriously yummy and I think it is fine left blank..it is a different look from a decorated angel..this way looks more elegant...a decorated angel whilst cute would be slightly less elegant!! Great job and Happy Christmas!
Beautiful cake...I think I would decorate it , but it looks fine the way it is.
you could have put a little gold icing on the angel... but it is still beautiful!
Gold icing? How do you do that? I probably wouldn't have had time, anyway. Thanks for the ideas and comments!
