Course 3 Fondant Cake on Cake Central

Here's a picture of the first cake I made for my course 3 class. This is the first time I've ever used fondant and the first time I've ever made MMF....it was a heck of a learning experience. :) I'm very proud of how it turned out though. Devils Food Cake with buttercream icing and MMF covering it. The MMF was surprisingly easy to cover the cake with. I did have it a bit too dry though. I finally bought some Wilton fondant so I could see what the texture was supposed to be like. Now I know. :)

That cake is very pretty, glad to know you had a better experience w/ MMF than I did. Mine was so hard to work with, it was too tough. Then when I microwaved it, it got sticky. I plan to buy Wilton's, too, to see what the texture is meant to be.

Thank you! I think it worked out so well because I rolled the MMF out really thick. :) It covered all my mistakes. :) lol...
