that cake is so sweet!!! Do you mind telling the sizes of each layer? and how many it was to feed? thank you!!

Very beautiful!
DianeLM 12/20/06 at 3:04pm
Thank you for the nice compliments! The bottom tier is 9-inch, the top tier is 6-inch and the very top tier+tower is Rice Krispie treats. This will yield 35-40 moderate cake servings, plus all the RK treats.

Beautiful!!! How do you get the brick effect on the cake? I am new at this. Would like to make one for my granddaughter.
DianeLM 12/23/06 at 4:48pm
Thank you Debbie. I used an impression mat over my crusting buttercream for the brick pattern. I'm sorry but I don't remember where I got it.

Wow, what a fabulous cake!!!! Where did you find the little figures? My neice asked for a cake with princess on it and I can't find something small enough.
DianeLM 1/7/07 at 3:57pm
horsiegirl - the customer found someone having a good day at the WalMart bakery who sold them for $5. Normally, they are only available to professionals as a cake decoration.

I love how you have each layer off center, very original look! Can you please tell me how you got those perfect squares (not sure what they're called) around each of the tops of the cakes?
DianeLM 3/19/07 at 9:52am
Thank you, CakesBySusie! I used an FMM straight frill cutter for the ramparts (?) I'm not sure what they're called either!

I wish I would have found this before I fumbled through my daughter's castle cake last year. The white castle is the perfect background for the colorful princesses. Well done!
