This was inspired by Colette Peters Christmas Cake pictured on the cover of American Cake Decorating Nov/Dec 1995 issue. This cake is the Wilton petal pan. The cakes rest on a fondant covered board and I used gumpaste poinsettie ribbon flowers with bow loops. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

How did you manage to make such a beautiful job on the rope, so perfect. Can you share your secret? It's the most beautiful Xmas cake I've seen.
siblingsweets 1/31/07 at 4:20pm
Do not look too close at the rope. It did dry out a little. I rolled it with my hands, then used my fondamt smoother to leavel out the diameter. Then carefully twisted the two colors. Now I wonder if the Wilton cookie press disk has a size diameter that would work?

What a beautiful job you did!! Your ropes look wonderful. Is that red and white piping or fondant around the outer edge of the board??? Will you share how you did that part??
siblingsweets 5/14/07 at 4:26pm
The red and white with the beads are Christmas Ribbon. Thanks for giving me the credit!

Did you pipe the lettering, or do you have some type fondant cut out?
siblingsweets 10/2/07 at 7:09pm
The lettering is a Tap It set from FMM they have script and block lettering. Global Sugar Art carries this product. If you roll the fondant out in about a 4 or 5 and let it set a little it is easier to tap the fondant out of the cutter. It is worth the investment to have this lettering. Thaks for asking.
