Second Wedding Cake
I made this cake for an Audrey Hepburn themed wedding. The bride's colors were black, white and green and she had originally wanted hydrangeas but since they are poisonous we went with royal icing piped flowers. I then glued them to wires and made little bunches. (I got the idea from someone on CC but I can't remember who.) The design is loosely patterned after the paisley cake in the 2008 Wilton yearbook.
Great job. Did you paint or pipe freehand?
Some of them I used a fondant cutter as a press and just went over it with icing. The rest were free hand. I looked at the pattern on the Wilton cake I was going by and just kind of "drew" them on the cake. If I did it again I'd make the patterns closer together and more toward the bottom of the tiers. Oh well, the bride liked it! :wink: :wink:
