Hubby's Office Christmas Party
This is four 8" rounds, two chocolate, two red velvet, filled with cream cheese frosting, whipped chocolate ganache, whipped strawberry cream, and chocolate mint truffle. The handle was originally royal icing, but it was so large and heavy that it kept breaking so I went with a ribbon. Thanks for all the inspiration for this cake.
What a FANTASTIC IDEA! Looks great! Bet it tasted even better! Mmmmmm
Thanks. The ribbon had wire on the edges, so on the top of the handle I cut the ribbon out about an inch in the middle and left the wires on either side long. Then I just shoved them in the cake. For the bottom of the handle I just used a single toothpick.
LOVE IT!!!!!
Gorgeous! How did you secure the ribbon?
Bet it tasted as good as it looks! Great job!
Nice job ! The ribbon made a very nice looking handle. The flavors sound very yummy.
Awesome!! The ribbon was a great idea!
love the ribbon handle - and the colors - and wow the flavors! looks great! and cute idea - esp. the candy canes!
This is really great! I am actually sitting at my desk at OUP right now!
