Christmas Ornament

Christmas Ornament on Cake Central

Made with the ball pan and iced with buttercream. The top and loop are fondant and then the whole thing is painted with luster dust. edited to add that I used a toothpick to secure the silver part.

Edited to add: I welcome any constructive criticism. Really!

Wow. Thanks everyone! :) I left the cake in the fridge overnight and then used a soft brush to paint it on. I mixed it with clear vanilla to make the paste kind of liquid.

Oh, it wasn't my idea originally. Quite a few decorators here have also made them. They just looked like fun so I had to try it too!

It's beautiful, may I ask which BC you used, so that you could paint it? I haven't tried painting bc yet, but have to make another ornament cake for xmas day and that lady wants it relly glittery, like real ones

My buttercream was half butter and half crisco. I smoothed it with a viva paper towel and fondant smoother. I was surprised at how sturdy the buttercream was when I painted on it the next day.
