Little Mermaid Cake With Gumpaste Ariel

9" round Little Mermaid cake with all edible decorations. Ariel was made with modelling paste using a home-made mould for the face body and arms, tail moulded by hand. I sprayed the cake with PME edible lustre spray (can) to make it shimmer. This cake was great fun to make!

OMG you nailed her. I am so jealous. I really thought i could pull her off but no luck. after seeing yours I want to try again. I see what you mean about the eyes. I didnt have the best pic. I should have put the movie box in front of me for that part.

I made a mould from a mini barbie doll, using silicone plastique (fabulous stuff!). I made a front and back mould from the doll for the head, body and arms and when the moulds were set I pressed modelling paste (made with fondant and CMC) into it, popped it out and smoothed the edges carefully with my fingers.
