Lauren's Proposal

Lauren's Proposal on Cake Central

Did this cake for a friend whose future son-in-law wanted to propose with the cake at a "supposed" going away party for the DD. Thanks to franjmc for the inspiration and the great bow tutorial. Satin Ice fondant and gumpaste bows. "...and the greatest of these is love." is going around the cake on the board upon delivery so it doesn't get messed up. Man, is this cake HEAVY!!

Make the lid 1" bigger than the top all the way around, cut a 1" square away from each corner. Lay on top of cake and use a bit of crisco to seal the edges that will come together. Hard to explain without pictures!

What sizes are these two cakes. And just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to do these, someone asked me for somthing like this to be done for Friday

the cakes are 10" and 4- 1/2 ". Besides baking, and doing the bows ahead of time, it took me four hours to put it all together.

Lovely. Simply perfect. Even down to the individual "stitching" marks you've put on the ribbons. You knocked this one outta the park!

Yep! She said yes! While Lauren was looking at the cake questionly, the boyfriend who was supposed to be in NC, snuck in behind her and said, "well, will you?" while holding up the ring!
