Waterfalls
I made this cake for a 50th Birthday Party at Letchworth State Park (NY), for someone who works there. The bottom layer is vanilla cake with blueberry filling, covered with buttercream and fondant. The top 2 tiers are chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate frosting. Trees are rice krispie treats with royal icing, some pretzel trunks. Some decorations are fondant and water is homemade piping gel. There are deer at the top but they got cut off in the picture. Thanks for looking!
fantastic. This is a save to favs for sure!
great job!
This is wonderful. You did a good job and the homemade piping gel sounds good. I need to try that. ;-D
awesome cake!!!!!!!
Excellent cake for a party at Letchworth- it's an amazing cake for an amazing location :) Beautiful cake :)
Great job. Boy does that bring back memories. I loved visiting there in college!!
Absolutely beautiful, just love it. You did a grea job!! Into my favs.
How did you make the trees out of rice krispy treats?? I'm baffled!
For the trees, I made regular marshmallow rice krispie treats and shaped into cones before completely cool. Then I used a star tip to pipe "branches" onto the rice krispie treat cones with green royal icing. It was a lot of work, but worth it!
i love this idea its nice adding to favs
Incredible work, this is going into my favorites... what does homemade piping gel consist of?

what an incredible piece of work! And your deer barely made it in the pic ... it's there!
Thanks for your nice comments! I used the recipe for the piping gel on this site - you can find it by typing "piping gel" as the keyword. It's just gelatin, water and light corn syrup. It's pretty simple, you just add food coloring for colors you want. Hope that helps!
love it!

Love it. Love the trees. I have to make a cake today with some pine trees, so I am going to use your idea for them., I was going to use sugar cones, but I didn't want them to all be the same size and they would have been too big for my little tiny mountain. Thanks for sharing. That is a GENIUS idea!
This is a beautiful cake! To the favs it goes!
