Thank you all so much for the compliments!!! The way I did this cake was to cover in fondant, then make the vertical lines and the roping on the edges. Finally the roses were made and added. I did paint the cake and used some shimmer dust to make it look antiquey! Feel free to ask more questions and thanks again!
TOO COOL! how do you attach the "rope", i realize it's MMF, but how does it stick so well? i hope to replicate your painting technique on my own anniversary cake at the end of august, do you use gel colour & spirits? or something else?

thhe rope, you just roll it at to the thckness you want and then attatch with water, hope it works for you!
