Usmc Emblem Sheet Cake on Cake Central

1/2 sheet cake with 8" fondant USMC emblem cut from fondant, painted with paste colors and gold luster dust mixed with vodka. Buttercream frosting and piping. Fondant stars on sides, painted with paste colors and gold luster dust with vodka. Cake inspired by jkalman's avatar. The recipient's surname has been blocked out for privacy.

(continued) black and white. Using a cake circle as a template, I cut out an 8" circle of fondant and put it on the cake circle. then I cut out the center circle of the printed template and cut the outer ring from fondant and placed it on the 8" circle of fondant. Then I cut the emblem from the paper template and used an exacto knife to cut it out and positioned it onto the 8" circle of fondant. I used a clay gun to make the rope and inner circle that was painted gold. Then I piped over the

(continued) eagle/anchor to give it some definition. I painted the eagle/anchor, inner ring and rope border and edges gold, and used gel color to paint the red and blue. Royal blue and red (no taste.) Right before I delivered the cake I loosened the emblem from the cake circle with a spatula and placed it on the cake. I hope that makes sense!
