we have jumbo cupcakes at work and everyone loves when i do roses on top of regular cupcakes and i need something quick to fill my case so i did a jumbo rose on a jumbo cupcake and yes they are a big hit

i use the largest rose tip i think it is 127D with whipped icing b/c BC is just to thick and heavy
