2007 Fair Entry
This cake was my nightmare cake - had to redo it 3 times!! Its 12 10 8 & 6 inch rounds, covered in fondant. Airbrushed a dark purple base for the flowers and then piped over top in BC. Did a brushed embroidery around the flower. I'm actually happy with how it turned out... even though it was a nightmare.
This is very pretty! I love how you did the technique with the darker under the brush embrodiery. Sorry this cake was so much trouble but, it is beautiful!
Awesome job, I never used an airbrush on a cake, is it easy? I am new to cake decorating, been through all the classes and such, learning as I go, any tips you can share???
airbrushing is rather easy - just takes practice to get the right control of the brush. Thank you for your nice comments.

Very beautiful cake. I have seen this technique used several times and plan on attempting it on a cake for this weekend. May I ask you what was a nightmare about it and what caused you to redo it 3 times? Just so maybe I can avoid any possible problems. THANKS!
the nightmare was buttercream cracking on me - so I redid it twice in BC then finally again in Fondant so it wouldn't crack again... never had the problem before until this cake.
