In community album: Children's Birthday Cakes
For my own son's pirate birthday. Thank you to all the treasure chests at CC. This place is so awesome! I cut a 9x13 in half and made top with rice krispy treats (they really do sculpt better without butter). Luster dust for metal. I forgot to color the wood fondant ahead of time, but painting on the brown coloring was good because it enhanced the woodgrain lines I had made with a knife.

Treasure Chest

I think the painting you did on the fondant looks wonderful!! It probably wouldn't have looked as realistic if you had colored the fondant. What a happy accident!!
